If your hard disk is saying "Delay write failed" this means "I am going to die in 2 months and maybe less than that". My one (Fujitsu MHR2040AT) said this and died unexpectedly. I was using it as an external backup drive. Somehow I have deleted all the original copies of my pictures from the computer and the only copy was on this hard disk. Now I have lost some of my son's  and our trip's pictures. Now I am trying to find the same hard disk thinking if I replace the circuit board, may be I can save pictures in it.

So if you have this MHR2040AT lying around gathering dust, I am ready to pay for it. Please let me know. Unfortunately, Fujitsu stopped producing this HD and the shops that I have tried are of no avail. If you have this HD and don't want to sell it or still using it please also let me know. The circuit board on this HD does not require soldering and can be replaced easily. I will do it in front of you and return yours in about 2 hours. Come on guys, somebody should have this HD.

After I have learned my lesson, I went to local computer fair and bought a Netgear SC101 backup unit with 2 Seagate 320Gb, 7200 RPM hard disks. It is a NAS storage unit that connects to network. SmartSync backup software also makes it easy to backup folders. I was actually looking for a box with Samba on it so that I can share with my Linux partition but this will do at the moment. The only thing is there is no on\off button on this device and it heats a bit.

# re: Looking for Fujitsu MHR2040AT

I just happened to have bought one of these as a backup drive. I have since decided to go for a larger drive, so I am willing to part with this. It is used, but works. Make me an offer - send it to: jd02110 at yahoo.
